Company profile
Lubalisi Resources (T) Ltd is a private company created in 2018 to explore and develop the polymetallic Lubalisi nickel-cobalt-copper-PGE deposit located within the Kapalagulu Intrusion of western Tanzania.

The deposit was formerly known as the Mibango Project and explored by Lonmin PLC and Goldstream Mining under a Joint Venture from 2001 to 2009. Lonmin withdrew from the Joint Venture during the Global Financial Crisis.

The Lubalisi polymetallic oxide deposit is located within Prospecting Licence PL10695/2015 which hosts a JORC 2012 compliant Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) of 111.7Mt @ 0.82% Ni, 0.10% Cu and 0.054% Co using a 0.5% Ni lower cut-off.

Funding has been raised and a Feasibility Study has started to obtain a Mining Licence over the polymetallic oxide deposit by an infill drilling programme to define a mine reserve in one of three proposed mine pit areas. Extensive mineralogical and metallurgical testwork has been completed and further bulk metallurgical samples will be obtained from the present drilling programme.

Mineralogical studies show that Co, Ni, Cu and Mn is concentrated in nodules within the oxide deposit and can be separated by screening and gravity mechanical processes.

Platinum and palladium-bearing sulphide chromitite harzburgite form reefs within the Lubalisi harzburgite. They are overlain by sulphide harzburgite containing lower grade Cu-Ni-PGE mineralisation. Once the oxide surface ore is removed, it will be possible to the sulphide ore in deeper open pits by completing another feasibility study.
